TOLLY ROBINSON

We Intend To Cause Havoc were a band that spearheaded the Zamrock scene in Zambia in the 1970s - a heady synthesis of Western psychedelic rock with Southern African polyrhythms.

I first made contact with the last surviving member of the band, the singer Jagari Chanda - who was then working as a gem stone miner - in 2009.

10 years later, I visited Zambia to help make a documentary commissioned by the BBC World Service about Chanda and the story of Zamrock.
